Built in 1967 or 1977, this Soviet building astonishes me. Like a series of boxcars (or Jenga blocks) stacked on an x and y axis, it cantilevers precariously over a hillside. According to Ana, a Georgian artist I spoke with last night, she says the "upstairs" part of it still is open and in use. The derogatory slang term for this building is "the dick in the ass" for its illogical construction. Yet another Georgian Ana translated this saying to mean "who's fucking who." The building is actually not in use but is owned by the Bank of Georgia, who has renovation plans.
